Phenom Hoops is getting ready for the upcoming college basketball season, and we can’t wait to see all the talent on display once again. We can’t wait any longer, as we start previewing teams all around the country. Check out each preview below.
Davidson Wildcats
2022-2023 Record: 16-16

We continue our previews around the country, especially here in North Carolina with the Davidson Wildcats. They will be looking to replace some key contributors, as they lost their two top scorers from last year in Foster Loyer and Sam Mennenga and many could be looking at this year as a rebuilding-type season. But when you look at the roster, there are some intriguing names to really watch out for.
Grant Huffman will be the leading returner from last year, as the guard averaged 9.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. And then players like David Skogman, Connor Kochera, Reed Bailey, and others all return that received legitimate playing time and earned valuable experience last year. Davidson will need those guys to step up more and help fill in the production that left last year.
Bailey could be an interesting prospect at 6’11 as he is a young prospect on the rise but overall, this is a roster hat has good size, can knock down shots, and can mix it up in a variety of ways. It will all be on who steps up even more this season.
But there are other players that should be interesting to look out for; Guard Angelo Brizzi sat out last year but the former Villanova prospect could be a big get for Davidson as he can help run the show. Jarvis Moss, a local here from Charlotte, is another guy to look out for. A smart kid who can knock down shots, and should see more minutes other than his time at Stanford. And that doesn’t mention some of the freshmen coming in, as forwards Bobby Durkin and Rikus Schulte, and guard Mike Loughnane could come in and provide minutes.
Davidson has some question marks surrounding them but they are also a program that could end up surprising a few; this is a team that many may have not looked at early on and time will tell on what they may be this season.
