2024 6’1 Jonathan Swanson of the Chattanooga Patriots home school team, is one that I call Mr. Fundamental as he is every coach’s dream making all the right plays at the right time and being exactly where is supposed to be every single time. Tough defender and team driven but rises to the occasion in every big game where he is called up on to be that clutch go-getter on both ends. Incredible basketball IQ.
Swanson never takes a play off and understands how to be the coach on the floor, especially in big games. Paired with Maguire Evans last season, they were an awesome one-two punch tough to beat. He was also among the best in the nation on three-point makes. Never forces anything on the court.
Last season he averaged 18.4pts, 5.3rebs, 3.0asts, 2.4stls, 4blks, and 10 charges taken. He is a real deal game changer and raised the bar a bit in the AAU session against great talent as well as playing with a team called TN Thunder. He is poised to lead his team on another magical season run with national tournament implications yet again. It’s no understatement that this blue-collar stud is every coach’s dream.
