What Was Recently Said:

Even in the months since that was written, Clark has continued to show clear development on both ends of the floor. He’s quietly emerged as a legitimate two-way force and someone that various types of scholarship-level programs should be pursuing. Clark is strong, mobile, and steady. He controls the glass, anchors the paint defensively, and seems to get more comfortable on offense every time he touches the floor. Clark finishes well around the basket and utilizes his body well to play through contact. He’s a useful screener with an understanding of how to roll or apply pressure in the dunker spot, but also displays the makings of a workable midrange jumper. Clark does a nice job of defending the two-man game, recovering, and outworking opponents around the basket. His straightforward, low-maintenance identity should appeal to a ton of different programs.

What To Expect:

While so many other kids opted to go play on teams where they received limited playing time, Clark chose an ideal situation for his development. Over the summer months, the 6-foot-8 big man clearly made strides within his progression. Clark is a strong, mobile post prospect with touch, athleticism, and quality interior instincts on both ends of the floor. He understands pick-and-roll actions, both as a roller and defender, and does a great job of utilizing his length to protect the rim. Clark finishes well around the basket and can play above the rim with regularity, but doesn’t require offensive touches to make an impact. Add in his two-way rebounding presence, and it’s difficult to be anything other than enticed. Watching his improvement over the last two years has been genuinely astonishing simply due to how far he’s come. He’s already an appealing prospect for college coaches but has the tools to be even better with continued reps. Clark’s trajectory is skyrocketing, so it’ll be exciting to see how he produces as a focal point (and potential breakout candidate) for Mooresville over these next two seasons.
