Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Lili Booker
Class: 2024
Committed to: Longwood

What She Said:

Lady Phenom: What made Longwood the place for you in the end'
Booker: Longwood is a special place that I fell in love with at first sight. It is also in Virginia where I spent a lot of time with family over the years. My grandfather played hoops at VCU, my dad played football at William & Mary, so to be a third-generation D1 athlete playing and getting my education in Virginia is special.

Lady Phenom: What kind of relationship were you able to build with the staff there'
Booker: From the very first phone call with Coach E, I felt a good vibe. The whole staff is very family-oriented, which is something that is huge to me.  Everyone on staff seemed to genuinely care about me, not just as a basketball player but as a human being.

Lady Phenom: What do they hope you can bring to the program' And what are you hoping to bring to the team early on'
Booker: I think they view me as a complete basketball player who can provide many things. If I need to come in and lock down a hot scorer or provide disruptive ball pressure, I can do that. If I need to get buckets or facilitate for my teammates, I can do that as well.

What Was Said by Phenom:

“2024 Lili Booker was a player coming that we knew quite well from previous games this past high school season. When watching her play then, she always seemed to grab our attention with her stellar play, so it was great to check her out once again against some of the best.  She didn’t disappoint at all with what she showed.  When talking about her game, she really can be the ultimate playmaker on the court; she does a great job in being that leader on the court, one that loves to get others involved, and brings that team-first mentality. You can see that with her smart feel and tremendous IQ; she was excellent in making plays and creating off the dribble, and then dishing and setting up her teammates for shots.  That is something we have seen her do countless times, but she also can create for herself.  She does a great job in getting downhill, finishing at the basket, being a leader, and taking advantage of scoring opportunities, but also making the right reads.  Booker is strong out in transition but also does the dirty work in collecting rebounds, battling on defense, and impacting the game in a variety of other ways.”

“Continuing onto a player that caused a ton of problems for opponents with her nonstop energy and intense defensive prowess, Lili Booker. She’s a smart, quick, team-oriented guard prospect with great creation skills and the ability to consistently get downhill and finish or set up others. Booker is a quality scorer from all three levels, but is arguably at her best when breaking down opponents and attacking the basket. She’s an incredible defender with sharp instincts and exceptional rebounding prowess, which simply makes her a terror for opponents on both ends of the floor. Coach Galvani on Booker: “Lili is a suffocating on-ball defender. She does a good job of running the floor and getting others involved. Displays solid court vision and a willingness to make the right play. Quick in transition and hard to stay in front of when going downhill. Lili takes good angles on defense and displays great anticipation off the ball to get steals in the passing lanes. She’s a good finisher around the rim.” Booker was easily among the top performers on display and should be a target for various college coaches over the next calendar year.”
