Player: Tyler Whitehurst
Class: 2024
School: Farmville Central

Whitehurst has been a name many have heard and playing last year at Riverside-Martin, it will be exciting to see what his impact can be for Farmville Central, a known program that is always competing for a championship.

Whitehurst is a 1,000-point scorer so far through his high school career and is one that knows how to produce and plays with a lot of confidence. When you talk about his game, you first have to look at his quick shot-making ability especially from behind the arc, as he can be a weapon from behind the arc. But overall, he can be a tremendous scoring presence with his quick first step, his ability to create, and his ability to fill it up consistently.

With what Farmville Central has been able to produce, securing a talent like Whitehurst will certainly be a huge addition but it will also be interesting to see how much more attention he will be able to get from college coaches in his senior season. One to watch for sure…

What Has Been Said:

“Whitehurst, who s a 6’0 guard at Riverside-Martin, continues to play at a high level this season.  Watching him in the Outer Banks earlier in the season, Whitehurst continues to show his ability to fill it up and be a scoring threat.  Whitehurst does a terrific job in knocking down shots from outside, as he shows his confidence from behind the arc with 61 made threes so far this season.”

“Whitehurst is a 6’0 guard that showed his ability to knock down shots with range, score and create well, and be a leader on the court.  He has a quick first step and creates well with his handles, as he doesn’t lack any confidence with his shot, especially from three.”

“The 6’0 junior guard came out firing early on, just giving everyone a glimpse of what he has shown countless other times on the court.  He has a smooth confident shot from deep, as he hit multiple threes in the game. But he also has a shifty game in being able to create and pass.”
