VCU landed their first commitment for 2018 on Wednesday, as Lawrence North’s Kevin Easley announced he would be committing to the program.

Easley announced over social media that VCU would be the place for him, saying:

“First off, I want to thank all the coaches who took time to recruit/offer me a scholarship. This was a long and hard but my decision is made up. I would like to announce that I am going to further my education and basketball skills to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).”

The 6-foot-7 Indiana prospect has a unique set of skills that can play multiple positions on the court. With his size, he is a matchup nightmare on the court that does a little bit of everything on the court, whether it is rebound, defend, or run the offense. With a smooth release of his jumper and ability to attack and finish at the rim, Easley can be a versatile prospect on the court.

Easley participated in the Indiana Top 80 in 2016, where coaches had this to say.

“Easley came into this event firmly ranked as a Top 125 prospect with over 20 D1 offers. He carries a unique skill set, much like Draymond Green with strength as a multi position defender, rebounding and court vision. Easley’s camp coach Bronson Lickliter stated, “Kevin has a strong frame and is very skilled. He passed the ball well and showed the ability to get his team into sets. High level player.”

VCU landed a great piece for 2018 and one of the top prospects in the state and nation; one that you will be hearing his name several times on the next level.
