What Was Recently Said: Next, we look at a player who continues to showcase steady progression with each new viewing, Jacari Brim. He’s a crafty, fairly well-rounded guard prospect with useful creation skills, ball-handling ability, and solid balance as an offensive piece. Brim is a capable scorer from all levels, and can initiate the action if needed. He contains his assignment well defensively and rebounds the ball effectively for his size. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring opportunities alongside another lead creator. Coach Goodman on Brim: “Jacari is a solid defender that wants the tough guard matchup. Displayed a nice midrange jumper and the ability to knock down the open spot-up shot. He’s a willing defender that communicates very well on the court.” Brim enjoyed a nice showing during his time at camp, and should be poised for a highly productive sophomore season at West Forsyth.

What To Expect:

These days, very few players move in silence, which is what makes Brim such a refreshing case. It’s evident that he’s the son of a coach, simply through his IQ and calm, poised demeanor he carries himself with—both on and off the court. Brim is a balanced floor general who has consistently stronger and more athletic while maintaining his efficiency as a three-level scorer. He’s already been a varsity leader for multiple seasons and clearly contributes to winning on both ends of the floor (as shown by how drastically West Forsyth improved upon his arrival). Brim displays pace, vision, and the ability to mix it up with the ball in his hands. He’s a scrappy on-ball defender with great anticipation for forcing turnovers and an understanding of how to properly lead the break in transition. Although he’s armed with an offer from Appalachian State, it feels like more coaches will get involved with Brim over these next two years.
