Coming into the Phenom Hardwood Classic, we were excited about getting a view of 2025 6’8 Kareem Stagg with Boo Williams, and the 6’8 prospect didn’t disappoint while also bringing intrigue with his game.  Stagg is one that has seen his recruitment start to take off, as schools like Providence, VCU, Texas A&M, Maryland, and Saint Louis have all offered this year.  And when you watch his game, you can see that more will be joining that list sooner rather than later.

What Was Said at the Event:

“2025 6’8 Kareem Stagg (Boo Williams) had a strong showing throughout the day. His blend of size and skill set is why schools are looking hard his way and his recruitment should only continue to rise. Made a variety of plays all throughout.”

Stagg’s blend of physicality, strength, and size certainly should grab your attention. He is one that finishes strong at the rim and does so consistently, but also brings a strong presence defensively as well. Really liked the flashes he showed with his footwork, his ability to operate around the paint and put on the deck, his ability to bully through defenders and finish strong, but also make a presence in a variety of other ways on both sides of the court.

He has had a strong summer with Boo Williams, as he was able to show more of what he can provide.

“It went well,” Stagg said when asked about this summer.  “I started out on 17u for the month of April, and that didn’t go well for me, so I played with the 16u for May. Played well and then got invited to the Nike Elite 100 Camp in June, which went well also. I eventually moved back up for Peach Jam to 17u and I played well.  I think I wanted to show more of my defensive side than anything else; to show that I can guard 3-5.”

He made his mark and showcased his impact, as Providence and VCU are the latest to get involved with an offer but in speaking with Stagg, schools like Pittsburgh and Alabama have also been expressing interest.
