Carolina Pressure’s basketball program from Columbia, South Carolina is very loyal to Phenom Hoops. Coach Cameron and his team always show up in South Carolina and North Carolina, and this weekend was no different as the program really impressed throughout the Phenom Hardwood Classic.

The Carolina Pressure program always seems to bring talent that should be showcased, and they have proven that they belong. And even though they may get overlooked at times, they always welcome the challenge of facing the top teams.

“We work hard,” Cameron told Phenom Hoops. “Starting off as an independent program, we didn’t always get the first choice of the ranked guys. (We are) just building the culture, playing defense, and playing for each other.”

Coach Cameron continued to discuss more on how the program is constantly growing and what they strive for.  “We’re real big on family-like atmosphere, and over the years we’ve been able to cultivate that and help us be successful.”

This program as a whole is competitive and wants to play the best of the best always. This weekend the Carolina Pressure 17u team had a great game against BSA Supreme, another great team to watch. Pressure fell short 58-54 but the game was a good game to watch, as 2024 Joshua Smith and 2024 Jayden Pretty lead the team.

“Our motto is we don’t run from smoke. So, when we come to these Phenom events or any other tournament, we want to find the best competition there is. We always tell our guys to get a name you have to take a name. Competition is what helps players get better.”

The Carolina Pressure organization certainly has proven itself on the Phenom Hoops’ platform once again. The players always show up ready to work and have been locked in all summer long, as this is a team that never stops working and is certainly looking to bring the “pressure” to the court.

“We come to these events we’re calling Rick (Lewis) asking him to give us the best teams you got. We can prove that we belong here, and we have guys that need to be recruited.”

“We want to show everything. We feel like we’re the best team in South Carolina, one of the best teams in the east coast region so we just have a chip on our shoulder to show improvement, and ultimately get these guys in school.”
