2024 Sean Birmingham came to North Carolina and quickly made his mark with his play last year with Cannon.  He is a very intriguing prospect that has a blend of size and shot-making ability and has only continued to develop his game.  It was easy to see when we first saw him last year in 2022 when we had this to say:

“The 6’8 prospect is a complete x-factor on the court, and the way he can be used at the next level should excite college coaches. Birmingham knows how to take advantage of the mismatch; his ability to stretch the floor and consistently hit shots from outside against bigs is impressive, but he also has the skill set to put it on the deck and get to the basket against smaller defenders.  He takes what is given and can hurt you in many ways.”

Playing with Team Curry this summer, he has not only been able to show more of his game but why he can be an x-factor on the court and it seems that college coaches have taken notice.

Recruitment Update:

Birmingham is an intriguing piece on the court, there is no doubt about that. And it should be the main reason why his recruitment is starting to see an uptick as of late. As of late, he has added offers from Jacksonville State, George Mason, and Mercer, as they join Wake Forest, Charlotte, and Davidson as offers on the table. We spoke to Birmingham about all the latest and who else has been getting involved.

UPDATE: Birmingham has added Bradley and East Tennessee State since then

“It has been quite busy,” Birmingham said.  “A lot of phone calls and coaches asking me to visit. Schools have mostly been talking about my ability to handle it in transition and my shooting. I’ve enjoyed the process so far.  I’ve been extremely happy (about the schools that have offered). It has been nice to hear the coaches’ thoughts on my abilities and commitment to me and my future.  I’m taking it one day at a time. I will have a better feel for things after my visits. So far, I really like the schools and coaches that have offered as well as been in touch.”

Holding a few offers already, that list could only continue to grow as Birmingham mentioned that schools like VCU, Virginia Tech, Belmont, Bradley, Colorado State, South Florida, Morehead State, and others have all reached out as well.
