Jagger Emerson

Phenom Hoops was on deck this past weekend at Greensboro Day for the NCISAA LIVE Period Session 1, where we have a great chance to view teams and players of all ages and levels.  So we are wanting to dive into more of what we saw, bring you names that impressed us, and put names on college coaches’ radars.  There were a few young players that really impressed, and they should certainly be on radars.

2027 King Gibson (The Burlington School):

The Burlington School brings a lot of talent to the court this upcoming season, and one youngster has already made his mark with this group and should be a key piece. 2027 King Gibson has proven early on to be a valuable piece to this roster, and one can see that he has a bright future. When talking about his game, the 6’4 prospect already understands how to be an effective weapon on the court. He isn’t afraid of the bright lights, does a great job in getting to his spots, battles hard defensively, attacks downhill, and uses his size well. Gibson does the little things that matter for his team and is a competitor, which should only fall right in line with what TBS is all about.

2027 Teeshon Smith (Concord Academy):

Concord Academy lost a lot of talent from last year and they will look a lot different from last season. But that only means new names will have an opportunity to step up; one of those players could be 2027 Teeshon Smith. He is a player that we have talked about in the past, but it looks like he has only gotten bigger and stronger, as well as embracing the early opportunity to showcase his talent. Smith plays with a lot of poise for someone his age; he has good athleticism, is able to get downhill well, knows how to create and score, but also is a playmaker in a variety of other ways. Though young, Smith should certainly be one on your radar as there is a lot of potential with his game.

2027 Jagger Emerson (Greensboro Day):

Emerson has been a player we have discussed on several occasions, and each team we get a chance to watch him, you can see the potential in what he could ultimately be. However, there is still a ton of time for his development. Emerson has the size that you must like, already around 6’4 or 6’5, and showing that he can be a playmaker on the floor. He uses his size well, has the ability to create and score for himself, is a versatile piece both offensively and defensively, showcases good athleticism in his game, and plays with maturity on the court. Whether he is a defensive presence, scoring in a variety of ways, or being a strong presence with his size, there is a lot to like about this young man and I believe he will be a target for many.
