There were plenty of heavyweights this past weekend at the Phenom Team Camp, as talent could be found, and title contenders were on display. But what is so great about events like this is that it opens our eyes to new teams and players to watch more this upcoming season. One of those teams that impressed overall was Carson, a team that has a very young trio that could lead the charge and surprise some this upcoming season.

Diving more into the team, the trio of 2025 Jonah Drye, 2027 Jacob Mills, and 2027 CP Perry certainly didn’t shy away from the bright lights and carried the load this weekend.  All through have been names that have come through the Phenom platform, but now they make up a tremendous core group that should only elevate the program.  Drye, a 5’11 guard, is one that can be a weapon inside and out, knocking down shots with range, running the show as a point guard, controlling the tempo, and having a strong feel and understanding with the ball in his hands.  He is going to be one of the veteran leaders for this team for sure.

Then you have two freshmen to really watch out for; they played extremely well and played with poise on the court.  2027 CP Perry plays so well under control and with a natural feel as a young player.  He understands the game, makes smart plays, can create off the bounce, makes smart decisions, and can score inside and out.  2027 Jacob Mills was lighting it up from all over the place at Team Camp, knocking down three after three, showing his range and confidence as a shooter.

All three really played well together on the floor, and though this is a young group altogether, that didn’t seem to bother them at all as they opened up a ton of eyes early this summer.
