Just because the LIVE period is over in April, doesn’t mean that Phenom Hoops is stopping their coverage, as we are bringing you a ton of post-event coverage as well throughout the coming weeks.  Let’s dive into a few players and teams that we saw at the event, as we shed light on players that performed well throughout.

WCBA 2027

Though we don’t always spotlight younger prospects, the WCBA 2027 has two names that I would be on the lookout down the road in 2027 6’2 Jeremiah Mercer and 2027 5’6 Walker Montague. Both had a strong showing throughout the event and really made a case as players you will want to monitor as they continue to develop.

When you talk about Mercer, he has that early intrigue in size and skillset but he also really displayed his ability to fill it up consistently.  He is a very fluid mover with the length to go with it, he possesses a good feel but also a ton of upside.  He scores inside and out, makes good reads, plays with a high motor, and helps in other areas on the court.   He has been a standout on multiple occasions before, and he continues to play at a high level. On the other side, you have Montague, who is a smaller guard but when you dive into the boxscore and his game, he can be a big threat with his outside shooting ability.  Time after time, he filled it up with his jumper behind the arc, as he finished with 19 made 3’s in just four games.

Two players that I would certainly jot down and watch more, as they continue to develop as an overall prospect in the coming years.
