Countless times, we check in or tune into games throughout the high school season to find new names to watch out for throughout the region. And then that name pops up during the travel ball months that grab our attention more.
Rolling back to the high school season, we tuned in to watch Oak Ridge Military in action as they went up against Caldwell. A game that went under the radar, but it gave us an opportunity to learn a new name in 2024 6’7 Taky Prosper. After the game, Patrick O’Brien had this to say:
“2024 6’7 Taky Prosper; though raw in some areas, this is a young man that competed, was active on the boards, created second-chance points, battled down in the paint, and provided flashes of his upside. A name to certainly jot down and watch more.”
And now we have had multiple occasions to start the summer to watch the forward in action and he is still one that brings intrigue with his game. Once again, he is one that is still developing but he shows flashes of what he could be. Prosper brings size, brings a physical presence, understands his presence on the boards, and plays with a motor. The 6’7 prospect also shows that he can finish strong at the rim and can create havoc defensively.
Prosper looks to be just scratching the surface of what he could ultimately be, which is why he is a player that we are certainly interested in watching more this summer and how he develops as a prospect.
