Lady Phenom continues to highlight players all around the country, and one player that has been seeing a late uptick in her recruitment has been 2023 6’6 Eseosa Imafidon. A player that we saw first back in 2020 when she was with Covenant Day (Click Here), Imafidon has been seeing her recruitment take off as of late with a few high-major offers coming to the table. We caught up with the 6’6 forward to learn about all the latest. See what she had to say.
Lady Phenom: How did everything go this past high school season for you in your eyes' What did you get to show about your game'
Imafidon: In terms of basketball, I thought it was a great season and never regretted taking this extra year. I worked hard and was hungry to improve as a player. It was challenging and did not come easy, but I knew what I wanted and had to work hard to obtain it. I gained a lot of confidence in my game in terms of dominating the paint, blocking shots, rebounding, and just being a force in the paint. I’m still young to the game, and starting to realize what I’m am capable of doing and I know I have more room for improvement, so I am going to keep working hard, pushing myself, and doing what I enjoy best.
Lady Phenom: Recruitment has been picking up. You landed your first big offer from Iowa State. What was that like for you'
Imafidon: It was humbling to hear I got offered from a prestigious Power-5 school. It is a motivation for me to keep pushing. I know this is just the beginning.
Lady Phenom: How long have they been showing interest your way'
Imafidon: They have been showing interest for about a week or so.
Shortly after, Imafidon added another P-5 offer from Kentucky.
Lady Phenom: Have any visits you have planned'
Imafidon: I plan to visit LMU and DePaul, but still deciding what school to take my last official visit with.
Lady Phenom: What offers do you hold currently'
Imafidon: Offers are from DePaul, LMU, Pacific, South Carolina State, Kentucky, Iowa, and East Carolina.
Lady Phenom: What other schools have shown interest'
Imafidon: Interest from other schools as of now are from Appalachian State and Radford.
Lady Phenom: When might you be looking to ultimately decide'
Imafidon: First or second week of May.
