Player: Taj Saragba
Class: 2027
Height: 6’7

Saragba is a familiar name with Phenom Hoops over the years, as we have been able to watch him grow and develop into a very intriguing prospect.  First seeing him back in 2021, the then 6’4 prospect showed some early flashes of his ability to make his presence felt. Fast forward to recently at the Phenom Winter Nationals, Saragba has only continued to develop and grow into a prospect that you will be hearing and seeing more down the road. Now standing at 6’7, Saragba was able to really flourish on the court and use his size and athleticism to his advantage.  He is big and strong, moves well and can be powerful in the post, but also shows that he can space the floor and has good mobility for his size.

He also makes his presence felt on both ends of the floor, displaying tremendous bounce and timing in blocking shots and attacking the boards. Saragba continues to flourish and add more to his game, so it will be interesting to see how much more he adds and develops. But the early signs are there, as he will be one to put on your watch list.

What Has Been Said:

“Saragba is one to really start monitoring as he develops as a big. Great size at 6’4 already, soft touch, blocks shots really well, and is a skilled big that is only going to continue to develop.” – Back in 2021

“Although we’ve already closely detailed Taj Saragba and his overall identity, he’s still worthy of recognition as one of the top players from this group. He’s a big, strong, physically overwhelming post prospect with touch, mobility, and powerful athleticism. Saragba is a great rebounder who plays hard, finishes around the basket, and bullies opponents on either side of the ball. He can space the floor if necessary but typically looks to make his presence felt inside the paint. Saragba already does a lot of things well, yet knows how to consistently play to his strengths on both ends of the floor.”

“He’s grown, both in terms of height and strength, while still maintaining his polished, physically overwhelming identity. Saragba is a powerful athlete with the ability to finish with either hand or simply bulldoze weaker opponents into the basket. He carves out space well, both as a rebounder and when securing post position, and controls the glass effectively on either side of the ball. Saragba mainly operates within five feet but can step out and knock down jumpers from midrange when necessary. He’s also able to attack opposing bigs within a few dribbles from the wing or elbow. Saragba finishes through contact, passes well out of the post, and runs the floor properly in transition. He’s an active defender who understands how to utilize his body and alter shots around the basket. Saragba is already a force, but should only continue to progress over the foreseeable future.”
