Looking in the Greensboro area, Phenom Hoops was able to stumble upon an intriguing junior guard that has had a good solid start to the season and played well at the Phenom Tourney Town Showcase. 2024 5’8 Morgan Smith from Ben L. Smith high school has started the season off strong in averaging double-figures (14.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 4.0spg, 2.5apg heading into the event), and she continued to show how effective she can be on the court against TW Andrews.
Smith is a gritty, playmaking guard that was able to score the ball effectively. Smith did a nice job in being a playmaker on the floor, creating and penetrating the defense, finding ways to attack the defense, and doing a nice job in putting pressure on the defense to get to the line. Her ability to get downhill was where she excelled, but also gave us a glimpse of her pull-up game, her shot-making, and her presence on both ends.
Ben L. Smith is off to a solid start to the season and Smith has been a key part in that success, as she is one to look at more and track throughout the season.
