2024 Bryce Dortch is a 6’8 forward from Brimmer & May School and is also one of the premier talents in the class of 2024. Phenom Hoops was able to catch up with him about some of the latest going on with him, which included a recent official visit to Marquette that he took this past weekend, another offer on the table from Xavier, and his focus this offseason.

Dortch holds offers from Temple, Providence, Virginia Tech, Marquette, VCU, Brown, Siena, Bryant, Texas A&M, UMass, and Xavier.

When speaking to him, Dortch mentioned that schools like Rutgers, Marquette, and Virginia Tech have been staying in touch with him consistently, but a lot of other schools are reaching out here and there as well.

Marquette Official Visit:

“The visit was amazing,” Dortch told Phenom Hoops.  “It was my first official visit and it definitely set the bar high.”

“I was able to see the arena where they play their homes games. I also got to see the practice facility and the campus. What really impressed me was how they already had an idea of how they would play me and how I would fit in the system.”

While at the visit, Dortch was able to speak more with the coaching staff, talking about how they will be making him a priority and recruiting him hard, how they could use him as they use Oso Ighodaro who is with the program now, and how he could really make an impact in a variety of ways with the program.

As far as another visit, Dortch mentioned that he may take a senior visit if that is needed.

New offer from Xavier:

“My initial thought was “this is another blessing from God,” that is how I see all my offers.  Coach Miller said that they have been watching me and doing their homework since this summer.  He also said that they are going to prioritize recruiting me, so definitely going to be hearing from them more and they want me to share to me more about the school and culture there.  Coach Cohen was at my open gym last week and he said he loved watching me play. I’ve been in contact with Xavier for about a month, maybe a little more.”
