Phenom Hoops heads into their final travel ball event of the summer with the Phenom Summer Finale and we want to get a head start on players that you will want to check out. Here are just a few players to watch for and a breakdown of their game from their coach.
East Carolina Elite 16U
Amari Latham
“Amari is long and athletic at around 6’5. He has the ability to dominate the game on both ends of the floor and can fill up the stat sheet. He’s a great finisher around the basket and has added some ball handling, passing skills and range on his jump shot to his game to make him more of a threat. Defensively he can guard any position on the floor making him a very reliable and important player for his team.”
Jordan Jones
“Jordan’s a 6’4 long and athletic wing with the ability to catch fire from deep, also can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket at will. With his length, he’s able to be a lockdown defender and can guard any position. He has a lot of potential if he stays focused and locked in. College interest: Young Harris College, Dean College, Hampden-Sydney College, South Carolina Aiken, Lee McRae.”
Hayes Oxendine
“Hayes is one of the top shooters in NC regardless of class. At 6’3 he’s become the total package over the past year becoming a three-level scorer with the ability to finish with either hand at ease. His ball handling and passing have also improved tremendously making him a duel threat. He also has the ability to be a great defender with a super high IQ and always flying around in the passing lanes. College interest: Liberty, High Point, Western Carolina, Virginia, East Carolina.”
