NC GBB was an interesting team to watch with talent all over the court.  One player that was intriguing to watch was 2024 6’6 Jalik Nicholls.  When we first watched NC GBB during their open gym, we had this about his game:

“Jalik on the other hand is a young 6’5 prospect that has more of that perimeter feel to his game. Can stretch the floor with his perimeter game, comfortable knocking down mid-range jumpers and stretching it out behind the arc. Also runs the floor well, finishing strong at the rim in transition.”

Jalik is the younger brother of Jajuan Nicholls, a 2023 prospect for NC GBB last year. Jajuan has more of a down-low presence, Jalik is one that has a blend of size, skillset, and shot-making ability that should attract some eyes. His well-rounded game can be used in a variety of ways. He has shown that he can be a threat from the perimeter, knocking down shots with range but also putting it on the deck and creating for himself, and finishing around the basket. And what should grab your attention is that he is still a developing prospect.

Jalik is one that seems to fly under the radar in the class of 2024 but is one to keep an eye on more.

Prospect Q&A:

How would you best describe your game in your eyes'
I’m a 6’6 lefty guard that can shoot from the perimeter, get to the rim, very unselfish; pretty much just an all-around type player.  Just got to get better on the defense end, once I get that, I will be a complete player I feel like.

What have you been wanting to show more about your game this summer'
I want to show people that I’m not just a shooter as they label me just to show people that I can get to the rim whenever, that I can create for myself, and that I’m a leader.  I’ve been a role player playing up for the past two years but having the opportunity to play with my age group this summer, I can really showcase these things more I feel like and show people that I’m a complete player.
