2025 Hayes Oxendine is a familiar name to some, but he should start becoming an even more familiar name for several others around the state.  He is coming off a terrific season in helping lead the charge as a freshman at Leesville Road and has now been making his mark with East Carolina Elite.  Even though a young prospect, he understands and isn’t afraid to step up and lead the charge for his team, as he plays more like a veteran and understands how he can make an impact for his team.

When talking about his game though, one of the first things you have to start with is his ability to be a knockdown shooter from deep.  Time after time, Oxendine has shown that he can be one of the premier shooters in the class of 2025 and has terrific range and confidence in his shot; he can really fill it up from behind the arc.  But you can also see that he is starting to understand what it takes to be a useful and impactful point guard on the court. He is now offering the ability to bring a nice balance to the court with his playmaking ability, his IQ, and his leadership.

Last summer, Oxendine really grabbed attention with his game but now with a year under his belt at the high school level and leading the charge for East Carolina Elite 17u, he is going to be a player that you hear more about and could garner more attention his way.

What Was Said:

“Though we’ve consistently seen his foundation as a lethal shooter, Oxendine showcased a lot of ability as the primary creator and overall leader for this group. He’s a smart decision-maker and understands how to make plays with the ball in his hands. Oxendine is comfortable at setting up others while finding scoring opportunities from all three levels. He’s pretty steady, productive, and plays within himself.”
