The time has finally come for the highly anticipated April Live Periods. With the recruiting landscape in complete shambles, there’s still an abundance of unsigned, college-level seniors fighting for their chance to advance to the collegiate ranks. We’ve seen all of these prospects, and written about each of them previously. That being said, we decided to construct an article with a small blurb about some of the uncommitted prospects in the Class of 2022. These descriptions will offer a mere overview of the player, and our earlier pieces will expound upon these brief comments. Also, this is the first of multiple installments. Let’s take a closer look…

5’10 Marcus Willis (Mint Hill Lakers)

Smart, unselfish point guard. Touches the paint and makes proper reads. Capable finisher and perimeter shooter. Scrappy defender. Displays quality vision. Knows how to effectively manage a team.

5’9 Jaylan Bowen (Team Push)

Quick, shot-making guard. Heats up regularly from the perimeter. Attacks closeouts well and possesses useful in-between scoring ability (runners, floaters, etc.). Utilizes his quick first step to defend the point of attack. Capable ball-handler and playmaker.

5’10 Evan Presnell (NLPB Hickory)

Unorthodox scoring guard. Creates well for himself off the bounce. Solid passer. Can really fill it up from all levels offensively. Scrappy, engaged defender.

6’7 Griffin Powell (NC Spartans Bell)

Long, wiry forward. Shoots the ball at a high percentage, especially for his size. Can attack within a few dribbles. Utilizes his length as a defender and rebounder. Nice athlete who can finish above the rim or through contact.

6’7 Treyvon Byrd (Team Trezz)

Among the most explosive players in any gym. Long, wiry, and excels in the open floor. Great at getting to his right and finishing. Shows the ability to knock down the open jumper or make the appropriate pass to an open teammate. Ridiculous wingspan. Regularly intercepts passing lanes.

5’11 AJ Cook (CC Elite)

Lethal shooting threat. Unorthodox release point but has notable numbers and resumé over his career at Weddington. Able to hit shots off movement or as a spot-up option. Utilizes pump-fakes and intelligent cutting instincts to his advantage.

6’0 Maxwell Coles (Mint Hill Lakers)

Well-rounded guard. Does everything at a very useful level. Scores the ball with nice efficiency. Can initiate the offense or play without the ball. Defends his assignment well. Adaptable to the pieces surrounding him.

6’8 Tyree Bracey (CC Elite)

Long, wiry post prospect. Displays a high motor and willingness to do the little things on either end of the floor. Active on the glass. Positions himself well defensively. Can finish or knock down the occasional perimeter jumper. Moves well for his size.

6’5 Nayshaun Hale (Carolina Clutch)

Wiry, fairly skilled wing/forward. Long and athletic. Prefers to get downhill and attack the basket, but capable from midrange or beyond the arc. Highlights a strong presence on the glass. Can do a little bit of everything.

6’3 Sam Cogan (Team Denver)

Athletic lefty guard. Excellent at getting downhill and applying pressure as a penetrator. Shoots the ball at a respectable clip from the perimeter. Can initiate the offense, cut without the ball, or attack in the open floor. Solid defender and playmaker. Strong finisher, both above the rim and through contact.
