The class of 2024 is loaded with talent all around the country and one guard that could be on the verge of seeing his recruitment take off is 2024 Dellquan Warren from Keystone Athletic Academy. Already holding some impressive offers, Warren could be on the verge of seeing that list increase with what he has shown this season and what he could show this summer.

Warren is a familiar name to Phenom Hoops, as we got a glimpse of his game last summer with Wildcat Select.  Even then, one could see the potential in what he offered and said that this is a prospect that college coaches should be all over.

“Another player that this was our first time viewing, Warren is going to be one that college coaches will want to monitor. Playing up on 17u, Warren plays with a tremendous feel in leading the charge offensively. He plays with a great pace and feel with the ball in his hands, creating for himself and a nice change of speed but also plays with such an unselfish feel.  Warren showed on several occasions his ability to play within the halfcourt or play fast out in transition, while also setting up his teammates well for easy baskets or showcasing his athleticism and getting to the rim. Really liked his feel in my first viewing.”

We spoke with Warren recently to catch up on the latest with the sophomore guard, as he added a new offer to his list, more interests are coming his way, and to learn more about how his season has gone.

Phenom: How has everything been going for you as far as basketball these days'
Warren: Man, basketball has been great to me and my family these last few days. Just have to keep growing as a player.

Phenom: How has this season helped you with your game'
Warren: I would say what helped me this year was playing high-level competition and gaining confidence to dominate at that level, which helped me a lot with everything to be honest.  Learned a lot this season going through the ups and downs.

Phenom: What is your excitement about getting back on the court this summer again' We were impressed last year with your game.
Warren: Just showing everyone I’m easily Top-10 in my class and I’ve got to get better since the last AAU season.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court'
Warren: I’m a true point guard, so more of a Chris Paul type, someone who can score anytime I want to though.

Phenom: Recruitment has gone well. Just got an offer from Rutgers. What did they have to say' What do they like about your game and who has been your main recruiter there'
Warren: They were just telling me how I’m their No. 1 point guard recruit and they really aren’t going to recruit any more 2024 point guards, so they are going to be on me heavy. (My main recruiter) has been Coach Thompson.

Phenom: Have they been on you for some time now'
Warren: Not really, not that I know of.

Phenom: What other offers do you hold now'
Warren: Kent State, Maryland, Youngstown State.

Phenom: Maryland was another big offer.  What was it like to get that offer and how strong have they continued with you'
Warren: It was great, one of the best feelings in my life.  They have continued strongly with me.

Phenom: What has Kent State and Youngstown been saying your way these days'
Warren: Haven’t talked to Youngstown in a while; it was my first offer then I got a big offer and they have reached out. Kent State just offered recently and they offered me after I came to visit them at one of their games and they showed a lot of love.

Phenom: Kent State is one visit you have been on, have you been able to make any others'
Warren: I went on a visit to Ohio State and Xavier as well.

Phenom: How was that visit to Ohio State'
Warren: The Ohio State visit was just great! They showed the most love and I will definitely be considering their school. I was able to speak to the head coach.

Phenom: Same question for Xavier. How was all of that for you'
Warren: It was good, to be honest. I love their style of play and the coaching staff seemed like some coaches that are really engaged.

Phenom: What schools have been showing interest your way but have yet to offer' And do you have any upcoming visits'
Warren: Indiana, Ohio State, DePaul, LSU, and Pittsburgh.  I will be visiting a lot of schools over the spring and summer.
