Angel Walker: 2024 (High Point Christian Academy)
Angel is a guard that prefers to create her own mismatches and thrives off of being physical with smaller guards to maximize her advantage. She is comfortable with the ball in her hands, can create her own shot and her high IQ allows her to pass efficiently. She is starting to get in a consistent rhythm with her shot from behind the three. She is more of a traditional PG because she looks to pass first and score when she needs to. Watch out for her to have a breakout season at HPCA for her upcoming sophomore year.
Kiki Walker: 2022 (Salisbury)
Kiki has a high IQ, plays with tempo, and is able to score in different ways. When you see her play, you can tell she is more experienced because she makes limited mistakes and puts her teammates in the right positions to make a play. She may be new to NC but, I know once the season starts people will start to know her name. Be on the lookout for her to play a big role in assisting Salisbury HS to do some great things on the court.
La’Niya Simes: 2023 (East Forsyth)
If you are looking for someone to create chaos and intimidate teams with their length and athleticism, La’Niya is the one. She has the ability to cover so much ground with not only her speed, but her length makes it tough for teams to get long passes off without her getting a deflection or a steal. She has a high motor, loves to defend, and doesn’t mind doing a lot of the dirty work for her team. I can’t wait to see her continue to progress in all areas of the game and see her dominate this season with East Forsyth.
Jianna Holmes: 2024 (Forsyth Country Day)
Jianna is one of those kids when you watch her play, you would think that she is older than what she truly is. For her to only be a sophomore, it’s impressive to see that she makes minimal mistakes and is able to create not only for herself but for her teammates as well. She can handle the ball under pressure, shoot from behind the arc, and is a very skilled passer. Be on the lookout for her to efficiently lead a young FCD team this season.
