Phenom Hoops is continuing to expand and we couldn’t be more excited about bringing more coverage to players on the girl’s side. Brittany Drew is one you will want to follow, as she helps kick off our coverage. Drew recently went out to check out the talent at the Blue Chip Fall League, and here are a few standouts she found on the court.

Nadiya Hairston: 2023 (High Point Christian Academy)

Nadiya is on a mission and playing like she has something to prove. She has the ability to handle the ball through traffic, score at all three levels, and rebound well from the guard position. In transition, she is very hard to guard because she forces them to make a decision, and then she takes the shots she wants. She takes the challenge of guarding the other team’s ball handlers and never backs down. Be on the lookout for her to continue to not only lead her team in different categories but with her effort on both ends.

Kyla Bryant: 2023 (Salisbury)

Kyla is one of the most notable names in the fall league. She is a scoring point guard with a high IQ. She makes everyone around her better and effectively leads her team on and off the court. She is able to score on all three levels and puts pressure on defenses because when the ball is in her hands, good things happen. Be on the lookout for her to continue to lead this solid and hungry Salisbury HS team this season.

Elliott Jessup: 2024 (RJ Reynolds)

Elliott is a player that will take her HS conference by storm. She has the ability at 6’2 to be able to shoot the ball from behind the arc, be comfortable with handling the ball and be physical on her finishes around the rim. She is a matchup nightmare at times because of her versatility to play inside and out. Even more impressive is the fact that she can guard any position at any given time. Be on the lookout for her to be a huge piece to helping RJ Reynolds make strides this season.

Trinity Hairston: 2023 (East Forsyth)

Trinity is s player that you need to make sure in transition you get out to because she thrives on getting to her spots and knocking down 3 pointers. She has the ability to shoot over high hands, put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim. She is very long and active on defense which she thrives off of applying pressure from traps or just by simply anticipating the next pass. Be on the lookout for her to be a big piece for a scrappy and active East Forsyth team.

Jamecia Huntley:2023 (Salisbury)

Jamecia is a player that knows her role and plays it well. She has a high motor and is a pest on defense. She has the ability to be physical on both ends, get to her spots and finish and be able to have her defense create her offense. Very unselfish and naturally does all the little things, which makes her a tough player. Be on the lookout for her to be an asset to her team this season.
