Justin Hunter 6’1 150 2025 Wave Basketball Club (VA)

Justin is an elite athlete who brings great energy on both ends of the floor. He’s also a very good shot maker who can knock down shots from all levels both off the dribble and when spotting up and is especially effective shooting off the dribble in the mid-range. He brings a good mix of quickness and physicality attacking the rim and is strong enough to fight through contact and score while his athleticism allows him to hang in the air adjusting his shot and scoring with great touch from various angles at the rim.

Justin attacks the rim with fearlessness and aggressiveness and is extremely quick. More of a downhill guard he uses quick rips and just explodes with a determined first step and gets to the rim in the blink of an eye but can also abruptly put on the brakes and pull up into a smooth and near-automatic jumper. His mechanics are solid, he gets an excellent lift and with his high release, the shot is almost impossible to block. He’s very comfortable and efficient shooting off the dribble both inside the arc and stepping into his shoot from beyond the arc. His great quickness forces some defenders to give him some room which he is able to exploit with his ability to knock down the three-pointer. Justin doesn’t need much time nor space to get his shot off but if you crowd him he can make you pay with his quickness off the dribble. He’s an opportunistic scorer as well. Justin creates extra opportunities by attacking the offensive glass aggressively.

On the defensive end, his ball-hawking effort and great energy allow him to impact games and you really have to keep a body on him. Very good on-ball defender with athleticism, lateral quickness, and most importantly an attitude where he refuses to get beat. Justin is instinctive off the ball not only in passing lanes but getting position and beating people to rebounds and getting after loose balls. His effort is never in question, Justin is an energy giver and as consistent a player as you will find as a result. Wave Basketball Club Coach Daniel Diaz speaks ravingly about Justin’s work ethic and the energy he brings. “Justin is a very good rebounding guard and plays with a lot of energy. He can get to his spots and hit the pull-up jumper but can score in a variety of ways” adds Coach Diaz Always in double figures scoring and always accountable defensively. He just continues to improve in all areas and is fast becoming one of the area’s most impactful players.
