Toa is a very good shooter both on spot-ups and stepping in off the dribble and plays off that threat nicely with slippery and quick drives to the rim. He has solid ball skills and is tough to defend in one on one situations playing off hesitations and attacking space with a strong burst.
Toa slices through defenses protecting the basketball nicely, using spin moves and a great touch on runners, and finishes off the glass. He’s very athletic and fearless attacking the rim and has the ability to spot some daylight to the rim and shift into another gear and just explode toward the basket. He also has the ability to move off the ball and make shots at a very good rate. Toa is very good at shooting off dribble pull-ups and does a nice job relocating with the dribble and finding a seam, his action is quick and disciplined as he pulls up off the dribble for the jumper. He demonstrates excellent vision and passing skills and is a more than capable lead guard. Makes sound decisions with the ball in his hands and mixes in scoring and facilitating.
Toa is exceptional in transition with the ability to attack the basket and score with good consistency and the ability to pull up in transition and knock down shots at a very good percentage. His ability to score in isolation or create for teammates makes him an even stronger offensive threat. Not an imposing physical defender but he more than accounts for that with toughness and scrappy defensive effort. Toa is a harassing and relentless on-ball defender. Has quick hands for steals. He is also very active and vocal off the ball, demonstrates a great feel, and is always in a position to make a play. Toa is coming off a breakout summer for Empire Sports and joins a talented Grassfield High School team where he should find his way onto the recruiting radar with the opportunity to be a key contributor on both ends of the floor.
