Every year, there are new names that come through the state of North Carolina and we love to highlight these new players and what they bring to the court.  Liberty Heights lost a ton of tremendous talent but it seems that they will be having a few new and impressive names on the roster next season as well.

One player that will be new to the team is 2022 6’4 David Wilkerson who is coming to North Carolina from East Lansing, Michigan.  Last season, he played for East Lansing high school and it has been said that he is an efficient scorer from multiple levels but can really be effective from three.

When speaking to Wilkerson about coming to Liberty Heights and his game, here is what he had to say:

“I’m excited to be in a different environment than Michigan and just to see a different style and pace of basketball and to get to learn more about the game… I’m a 6’4 primary shooting guard but also play point guard and sometimes the 3.  I’d best describe my game as a playmaker and a knockdown shooter.  Even if it’s not scoring, I love to get my team involved and if my team needs a three from anywhere, I’d bet on myself to make the shot.”

As far as his recruitment goes, he holds offers from Albion College and Olivet College, while a few D1’s and D2’s are showing interest his way.
