New names are coming into North Carolina once again and one of the first prospects that captured our eyes is the new addition at The Burlington School, as 2023 6’9 Michael Nwoko looks to be a big-time young player that is already making noise in the state.
From Ontario, Nwoko helps TBS reload down low in the post after losing Kuluel Mading but it will be interesting to see what he can provide on the court. But in order to get a little glimpse into Nwoko’s game, we recently spoke with him about his game and coming to TBS.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game'
Nwoko: I would call myself a defensive/offensive forward/center. I attack the rim and I am very physical. I also have a soft touch around the rim and a consistent short jumper. I would also say that I am a great passing big man.
Phenom: What is your excitement coming to North Carolina'
Nwoko: I am very excited to come to North Carolina. It is the Hoop State and I want to play against good competition and get better.
Phenom: What is your excitement playing at The Burlington School next year'
Nwoko: TBS has a great coaching staff headed by Coach Bernardi. I will be exposed to better competition and greater exposure to colleges. TBS is one big family and you are also guaranteed a quality education.
Right now, Nwoko already has the attention of college coaches as he recently picked up an offer from Siena, his first.
