When watching this 15 and under Team Curry squad, one thing sticks out: size. This team has height, length, athleticism and skill.
Head Coach Reggie Hairston has been with the Pro Skills Basketball organization now for seven years. This will be his second season as the head coach of the 15u Team Curry team. Last season, he helped guide the team to a 21-3 record and solidified themselves as one of the premier teams in the country. Last summer, three players earned Division 1 college scholarship offers.
In speaking to Coach Hairston about this year’s group, he said, “I’m very excited about this group’s potential! These are a group of young men who truly believe “team first” and are mentally mature for their age on the court. This will be an excited spring and summer in year two!”
Team Curry has put together an impressive team for the 2024 class. Below, we will dive into each player in detail.
Sir Mohammed 6’5 2024 (Myers Park)
Son of 18-year NBA veteran, Nazr Mohammed, Sir Mohammed is coming off a productive freshman season at Myers Park in which he averaged 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. Mohammed is a prospect that people need to keep an eye on. He has tremendous upside. He has great size to go along with his skillset. This season at Myers Park, he played point guard, and expect the ball to be in his hands a lot for this Team Curry squad. He has excellent positional size and uses this to his advantage. He is able to see over defenders and make the right read. He is able to make next-level passes for teammates in the pick and roll situation. He is able to score in a variety of ways as well. On the defensive end, he can utilize his length to disrupt passes while guarding the ball, and he does a nice job of rebounding the basketball.
Draven Pilson 6’6 2024 (Forsyth Country Day)
Pilson has a unique blend of length, skill and athleticism. In addition to being 6’6, he has a 6’8 wingspan. He does a great job of attacking the basket in transition. For someone with his length and athleticism, he has excellent body control in the open court. He is able to attack the basket full speed but also play under control once he gets into the paint. He is able to create off the bounce and finish in a variety of ways at the basket or make the pass to the open teammate. Also, he has the ability to knock down the three-point shot with consistency.
Iverson King 6’5 2024 (Quality Education)
Iverson King is coming off of a really good freshman season at Quality Education. At 6’5, he has really good size and strength on the perimeter. He has the ability to make three-point jumpers, but he excels at getting to the basket where he is able to use his strength and athleticism to finish over defenders and through contact. With his size and ability to handle the basketball, he does a nice job of creating off the bounce and making plays. On the defensive end, he has the ability to guard multiple positions.
Dylan Deluca 6’5 2024 (Metrolina Christian)
As a freshman at Metrolina Christian this past season, Dylan Deluca averaged 7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the field to help his team to a 16-10 overall record. He is a high IQ player who competes every single possession. When watching him play, one thing that really sticks out is his toughness. He is not afraid to make winning plays. On the offensive end, he excels in getting to the basket. He is able to create off the bounce and attack the rim. And when he does, he is aggressive and will finish through contact.
DJ Boyce 6’1 2024 (Covenant Day)
DJ Boyce is a young prospect who the Team Curry program is extremely excited about. Although he may have played limited minutes this season behind Aden Holloway at Covenant Day, Boyce is a tough guard who makes plays on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he has the ability to knock down the perimeter shot, but also is a strong finisher at the rim. In addition, he is a really good passer who finds the open man. On the defensive end, he really gets after it and sets the tone.
Christian Foy 6’6 2024 (Winston-Salem Christian)
Christian Foy is another long, athletic wing on this Team Curry roster. He excels when attacking off the bounce and getting to the basket, where he can finish above the rim and through contact. He is efficient with his dribbles and makes quick, decisive moves to get by his man. Foy is also capable from the perimeter with his shooting. On the defensive end, he is a versatile defender who will be able to use his length to his advantage when guarding either smaller or taller opponents.
Jahon Foster 6’1 2024 (Quality Education)
Jahon Foster is a smooth, left-handed point guard who has a smooth shooting stroke. He has the ability to knock down shots off the bounce and the catch. In addition to his ability to hurt you from the perimeter, Foster creates for his teammates by pushing the pace and finding the open man, whether balling ahead in transition or in drive and kick situations. On the defensive end, he is a scrappy defender who pressures opposing ball handlers and makes them uncomfortable.
Erich Harding 6’7 2024 (Westminster Catawba)
Erich Harding comes from a basketball family. Both his mother and his father played collegiately at UNCW. He has really good touch at the forward position, and consistently knocks down jumpers from the midrange out to three. He excels in pick and pop situations where he shoots the ball really well off the catch. Also, a very underrated and overlooked skill at times is making outlet passes. This is something Harding does very well. He snatches defensive rebounds and immediately looks up the court for a teammate to initiate the break.
Micah Gilbert 6’3 2024 (Charlotte Christian)
Micah Gilbert was a key contributing piece of a young Charlotte Christian team that went 13-8 this past season. In speaking to the coaches with Team Curry, Gilbert is the type of kid who you want on your team. He works hard and continues to make improvements each year. He is a strong, physical guard who is able to attack the basket and finish through contact. He is solid with the ball in his hands as he is able to hold off defenders with his sturdy frame. In addition, his ability to rebound at the guard position will make him a valuable asset to any team.
Sincere Rasul 5’11 2024 (South Mecklenburg)
Sincere Rasul is coming off a solid freshman campaign this season at South Mecklenburg. He has the ability to play both guard spots. He is very comfortable at the point guard position and can make plays for others. But he also does well at the shooting guard position where he can create off the bounce and attack the basket. Rasul has a quick first step and is really good in transition where he can finish through contact. In addition, he is a tough defender who will pressure the ball.
