Phenom Hoops was able to get their first glimpse of a potentially rising star in North Carolina on the girl’s side, as 2024 Mila Holloway certainly is going to be a player you will want to come out and watch.

Yes, she is the sister of one of the top players in the country in the 2023 class in Aden Holloway, who goes to Covenant Day as well but she certainly deserves to be known for her own game and not labeled as Aden’s sister.

The young freshman can play.

When you watch her game, you can see a lot of similarities in her game to Aden though. She has that shifty, quick handles that get defenders guessing. She also has that scorer’s mentality on the court, whether it is penetrating and getting in the lane or pulling up with her jumper. Holloway already shows that “killer” instinct that you don’t see all the time from young players but there is still so much room and potential in her development.

When speaking with her head coach, Coach Tahjma Gabriel-Njoku, she had this to say when we asked her about what she has seen early on.

“She is resilient,” she replied.  “Her talent and basketball IQ exceed her age.  She is very poised and controlled with the ball.  She doesn’t give up and works well under pressure.  She’s mentally and physically tough; definitely a team player.”

All are certainly dead on with what we saw on the court at the Diamonds Classic and she should quickly be garnering the attention of college coaches soon. Mark her down though as a player you will want to catch on the floor in the coming years in North Carolina.
