A young man that has absolutely made his mark in North Carolina, 2021 Kadyn Dawkins is excited to say that he now holds his first offer. This past season, the 5’9 point guard from Eastern Guilford averaged 24.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3.1 steals per game, helping him earn Conference Player of the Year in the Mid-Piedmont 3A.
Dawkins is an absolute worker on and off the court, as he plays with a great IQ, showcases vision, and knows how to create his own scoring opportunities. It only seemed like a matter of time that a school would jump on board with an offer and on Monday, he announced that he had received his first from Concord University.
“It feels amazing and unreal but the work isn’t done yet,” Dawkins told Phenom Hoops. “I have a lot to still prove and work on.”
“I have built a great relationship with the head coach, Todd May, and one of the assistant coaches, Trent Howard. And while I was talking to the head coach, he had just listened to a podcast I was on and he said it was good and decided to offer me and I’m very thankful.”
The coaching staff seemingly loved his playmaking ability on the floor, along with his ability to score and help the team overall. It was only a few of the reasons why they provided Dawkins his first offer.
Outside of Concord, schools like Mars Hill, VMI, and Roanoke College have also been keeping track of Dawkins and his game, keeping in touch and talking about their program.

“I’m really just a floor general, putting my teammates in the right spots and making the right plays. I like to set up others, make the game easier for my teammates and my self,” Dawkins said when asked about his game.
“Being more of a vocal leader, the way I look at the floor and make certain reads. Also looking to improve my athleticism and also my overall game as well because that can always improve,” Dawkins replied about his focus this offseason.
