Head coach Wes Miller and the coaching staff at UNC-Greensboro have been busy on the recruiting trail, grabbing talent on multiple levels for their 2020 recruiting class and transfers that can make an immediate impact. Grabbing key pieces, versatility, athleticism, and size, the Spartans have certainly covered many areas of need for the future.

2020 6’4 AJ McGinnis
- A 6’4 guard at Link Year Prep, McGinnis is an intriguing guard to keep an eye on for the Spartans. He has a chance to be a big-time scorer for UNCG in the coming years, showing that he can score inside and out, being a very good shooter. McGinnis averaged 22 points per game this past season while shooting 53 percent from three. He also can be effective on the defensive end of the floor, using his quickness to his advantage and covering a lot of ground as a guard.
2020 6’8 Jarrett Hensley
- Another prospect from Link Year Prep, Hensley will be able to check off a lot of boxes for the Spartans in the coming years. He provides good size at 6’8 but also versatility. Hensley averaged nearly 15 points and five rebounds this previous season and the year before, at Leavenworth, he averaged 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. With his ability to guard multiple positions going along with his scoring capability, Hensley has a chance to make an impact in a lot of ways.
2020 6’5 Reggie Raynor
- Raynor is an absolute steal from the state of North Carolina and even though many would label him as an athlete (which no one would blame you for), Raynor brings a lot more to the floor. His explosion naturally stands out but you have a player that plays with great energy, strong all over the floor, and someone that can impact the game on multiple levels offensively. That doesn’t mention his ability on the defensive end, showcasing his excellent versatility and instincts on the court.
Hayden Koval (Central Arkansas)
- What you immediately notice with Koval is his size, standing at 7’0. Koval though brings in a lot of experience at Central Arkansas, playing in 98 total games and starting 94 of them. He uses his size in several ways, scoring around the rim but also being able to step out, hitting 104 3-pointers in his career at Central Arkansas. Koval naturally can be an impact on the boards but also as a shot-blocker, recording 102 blocks in three years.
JC Tharrington (Appalachian State)
- Another North Carolina native, Tharrington will be a walk-on for the Spartans but not your average walk-on; one that can certainly have an impact on the court. When playing at Charlotte Christian, you immediately can see the point guard plays with a high IQ and an understanding of how to run an offense. Tharrington plays under control, with good vision and unselfishness, and has a great shooting stroke from deep.
