Cape Fear Academy advances to NCISAA 3A semi-finals

Phenom Hoops travelled to Charlotte, North Carolina to cover the NCISAA 3A quarterfinal game between Cape Fear Academy and Carmel Christian. Cape Fear Academy entered the contest with a 22-7 record, but loses were to very talented teams such as Trinity Christian (2), Greenfield, Village Christian, and Durham Academy; all teams that are still in the hunt for a state championship. Carmel Christian, the defending state champion, came into the game with a 22-5 record and playing on their home court. For nine consecutive years, coach Joe Badgett has coached or been part of the championship game, however Cape Fear Academy discipline and well executed offense was the difference maker for coach Tony Martin.
