Last year, Greg Gantt played 17u for Team Felton on the Under Armour Circuit. At that time, he was a freshman and had very fluid performances. Now, after his sophomore year, Gantt is playing great minutes in an expanded role.

Gantt is a unique talent, who has an expansive skill set on both ends of the floor. Gantt is a tough guy, who plays tough. He has great length and athleticism. Gantt also is a very good passer from the high post and is able to attack the rim from the wing or the high post. In this day of the skilled 4 man, Gantt fits that mold to a t.

After his performance in the prestigious North Carolina Top 80 we wrote, “Gantt’s high motor and versatility immediately makes him a key piece on any team. He’s a power forward that can guard two to three positions really comfortably. Offensively, Gantt is able to score anything around the basket and does a phenomenal job moving without the ball to open up holes in the defense. He’s inch for inch one of the best rebounders in the state and always poses the threat for a putback slam. Defensively, he is very smart, versatile and able to vocally anchor a team; he stays accountable, calling out assignments and preparing for his rotation.”

This year he is averaging 22 minutes per game. He is averaging 6.63 points and 6.5 boards per game. Offensively he is shooting 47% from the field and defensively he is averaging 1 steal and almost 1 block per game. With a great performance so far on the UA Association Gantt’s has been a popular name. Just this past week, Gantt has picked up three offers. It has taken a major jump as well, going from Grambling State and Hampton to Depaul. Add in Eastern Kentucky and Campbell and those are his five current offers.

After watching Gantt after he played in one of our recent events we wrote, “Greg is an athletic rebounding machine, especially on the offensive glass. He plays with an extremely high motor and displayed strong finishes around the basket. He will be a great player at the division one level that could play the 3 or 4. Gantt isn’t going to drop thirty points any given night, but he will outwork everyone else on the floor while making you say “wow” at his athletic gifts.”

With Depaul most recently jumping in, that level feels appropriate moving forward for Gantt’s skill set.
