2020 6’4 Zavian McLean (Village Christian)
McLean may have had the best individual performance of Day 1 at the Hoops & Dreams Showcase. He is an absolute competitor as well as a teammate/winner. He showed that vs. Southern Durham, as he carried his team scoring-wise. He gets out in transition, turns defense into offense, and plays with a strong mentality. McLean stayed in attack mode and he couldn’t be stopped. He did everything he could, scoring 35 points in the game.
2020 6’6 Ricky Council IV (Southern Durham)
What is there not to like about a 6’6 versatile guard/ wing. He scored in every way he could, displaying his knockdown capability from three as well as his body control when he attacks the rim. Defenders know what he can do and still struggle to stop him. The athleticism and bounce may steal the show but Council continues to show that he can impact a game in every way on the floor.
2020 6’9 Jaemyn Brakefield (Huntington Prep)
It is hard to understand and to figure out how to defend someone with his size and versatility on the floor. He showed his full arsenal today, scoring inside with and out with his natural feel from three. Someone with his size and ability to play all five positions is just tough to stop. He also did a great job of rebounding the ball on both ends.
2020 6’10 Isaiah Todd (Word of God)
Todd has all the tools for a future pro and time and time again, he showed that talent vs. a tough Huntington Prep team. His ability to handle, step out, put the ball on the floor, and defend multiple positions is going to translate well. He plays with such smoothness and ease to his game, as he finished with a double-double.
2022 6’3 Po’Boigh King (Word of God)
Only a 2022 prospect, King plays with such a strong feel and doesn’t back down from much. With his physicality, he can make plays in the open floor, finish through contact, but also know down open jumpers all around the floor. King has a natural feel for the game and knows how to score the ball.
2021 6’2 Brayon Freeman (Huntington Prep)
Freeman was tough in the win for Huntington Prep. He was able to create steals, pick up defensively, and knockdown some tough shots on his way to 17 points. Freeman really attacked and got to the lane multiple times.
2020 6’6 Reggie Raynor (Northwood Temple)
Raynor plays with the ultimate toughness on the floor and at 6’6, he plays bigger than listed. He certainly brings athleticism and strength, battling through contact and finishing around the rim, but he also can move all around the floor. Playing out of position, you have to love his competitive nature on the boards as well as handle the ball in transition.
