Jamie Shaw has his five names that stole the show for him at the Champion Showcase

6’4” 2020 Sean Sims
Boo Williams NC 15s

Sims has taken his game to a new level. Playing aggressively and confident with the ball in his hand, looking to get downhill at every opportunity. It really is a beautiful thing, he is scoring on all 3 levels and using his size and length to finish at the basket. Sims is one to watch in North Carolina’s 2020 class, as he is tracking among the top players.

6’8” 2018 Kris Monroe
Team Wall 17s

Monroe is such an offensive mismatch. The 6’8” forward is very length, but it is his skill set that takes him to the next level. Monroe handles the ball in the half court with great pace, plays very well in the pick and roll and he shoots the ball with deep range and consistency. He already carries offers from the likes of Providence and Boston College, look for that high major trend to continue into July here.

6’3” 2018 Jaylen Alston
Carolina Wolves NC 17s

National Recruiting Analyst Brandon Blakney tweeted, “Alston is so consistent it’s a JOKE how underrated he is…” National Recruiting Analyst Jeff Bendel tweeted, “At this point it is illogical to see the lack of offers.” We have made it clear, this kid is a D1 player and for whatever reason schools are dragging their feet. Well July is going to come and they will have missed out. Again, in this event, Alston was a standout on every floor he walked on. Against CP3, against Team Wall, against QCAA he was a double-double machine who showed great vision and is a multi positional defender. At this point it is illogical to see the lack of offers…

6’5” 2018 Justin Tucker
Durham Hurricanes 17s Murphy

What an intriguing story Tucker is. At this point last year he stood 5’10”, now he stands 6’5”. Tucker showcased his entire skill set in the Durham Hurricanes final game tonight. He finished with 31 points, going 5-6 from the 3 point line and 4-4 from the free throw line. The lengthy Tucker is a very skilled player who has great size for his wing position. It will be very interesting to see where his recruitment lays at the end of July.

6’2” 2018 David Kasanganay
QCAA 17s

Probably the breakout player of the day, David Kasanganay showed to be sure fire Division 1 prospect. He is Ardrey Kell High School all time leader in 3-point percentage at 45% for his career. Today he was a 2-way animal. He shot the ball well, handled it with great pace in the half court and was a terror on the ball defender for the entire court. He currently doesn’t have any offers, if he is playing in the right setting that should change – he wins games.
