On November 7th, Phenom Hoop Report will be hosting our third annual High School Jamboree at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. Over 30 teams will be making their way to Tournament Town to showcase their talents to a plethora of scouts, college coaches, and passionate fans. After thorough review of the field, our team decided to put together a little “sneak preview” of individual players and teams that people need to keep a close eye on.
TEAM:
Atlantic Shores (Chesapeake, VA)
HEAD COACH:
Michael Hudgins
2014-2015 RECORD:
25-9
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Mastadi Pitt:
Mastadi Pitt is one of the most underrated players in Virginia’s talented C/O 2017. After watching the former Hampton HS product put on a dominating performance at our Virginia Top 80 Camp this past March, we immediately knew we had to add Pitt to our radar. This 6’2” shifty PG is an absolute animal on the hardwood. He’s as strong as an ox, he attacks the rim with purpose, and he always finds a way to distribute the ball well, and evenly. Pitt has already received numerous D1 offers from several high-major programs. Expect this gem to give it his all at the Jamboree. He could possibly be one of the strongest overall players in the entire field.
Logan Wells:
Logan Wells is a player we weren’t exactly familiar with last season. When this kid rolled into Virginia Wesleyan last March at our Virginia Top 80 Camp, it was easy to tell he was on a mission to make his name known, and he did. He caught the attention of several scouts in attendance that day and definitely made his name known on a national scale after an impressive summer with Team Loaded Virginia (15U). Standing at 6’8”, Wells is a terrific rebounder on both sides of the ball. He has superb court vision, decent bounce, and a beautiful shot. We’re eager to see how this kid competes with his new squad. The future is bright in the 757.
Marvin Trotman III:
Marvin Trotman is one of the most talented combo guards in the Virginia Beach area. When our man Frank Bennett turned us on to this kid early last year, we were immediately blown off our feet. Trotman is the type of player that can take control at any moment. Whenever the ball is in his hands, people can expect this hoss to create plays for his squad. His handles are strong, his shot is smooth, and his defense is ferocious. We’re definitely excited to see how Trotman competes at the Jamboree. Look for this guy to turn some heads in VISAA D2 this year. He could have the Seahawks competing for a title come March.
OTHER NOTABLE PLAYERS:
Hunter Ladler
Tragen Fahl
Byron Nelson
Jordan Banks
