On November 7th, Phenom Hoop Report will be hosting our third annual High School Jamboree at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. Over 30 teams will be making their way to Tournament Town to showcase their talents to a plethora of scouts, college coaches, and passionate fans. After thorough review of the field, our team decided to put together a little “sneak preview” of individual players and teams that people need to keep a close eye on.
TEAM:
Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC)
HEAD COACH:
Grayson Pierce
2014-2015 RECORD:
16-10
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Jacob Skidmore:
Skidmore is a lengthy prospect that owns an offer from Lenoir-Rhyne, while also catching the attention of several other programs around the country. The 6-8 prospect from Kings Mountain was the second leading scorer last season, averaging over 10 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. He also is a defensive presence anywhere on the court, averaging 4.5 blocks. He will certainly be the leader for this team coming into the year and overall, is a very good talent to lead an experienced team.
Omar Petty:
Petty was out all summer due to an injury but this talented senior averaged almost 10 points per game last season and could be a major player in the conference. The young man can certainly fill up the stat sheet.
Josh Helton:
An outstanding student in the classroom, this young man led the team in rebounding last season with over 6 a game. Now a rising junior, one of several juniors on the team, Helton is looking to have a breakout year down low in the paint for Kings Mountain.
OTHER NOTABLE PLAYERS:
Dante Starr – 7.0ppg, 6.0 rpg
Demetrius Hill – 6.6 ppg
