Team Charlotte

5’8 ’23 Amari Tate- Throughout the weekend the games I saw he was pound for pound the best 2023 player on the court it’s amazing to see someone that size totally dominate a game. Tate is a quick point guard who lives in the paint he is a pass 1st guard who drops dimes with ease. Defense feared that he would get by them so once they sagged off, he showcased a consistent shot from 3-point range. Defensively Tate was an animal if they had an all defense team, he would have been on it. Tate is a ball hawk tenacious on-ball defender off the ball he jumps passing lanes looking like a defensive back the way he picks off cross-court passes. Tate had a great weekend flirted with triple-doubles throughout the event.

WBC Elite 2021

5’8 ’22 Maleec Myers- Myers is an absolute dog he takes no plays off and gives everything he has in the tank. What stood out first was his vision seems to see the play develop before anyone else knew what was going on. Strong upper body allowed him to bounce off the defenders and finish through contact. Myers also can stretch the defense out because he has a consistent range from deep. The NC 2022 class is starting to look deeper than I originally thought Myers should be another one added to the list.

NC Ice

6’2 ’21 Ryan Roberts- Nothing new but Roberts put on an absolute shooting clinic this weekend and it’s been talked about him being one of the better shooters in NC 2021 this weekend he confirmed it. Roberts made 6 three’s and scored 25 points in one half it was one of the best shooting exhibitions I have seen. Roberts is more than a shooter he also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket and with that being added to his game he will be a tough assignment to guard for someone.

PSB Charlotte 14U

5’8 ’23 Isaiah Sanders- Sanders is a ballplayer if his team needs a bucket, assist, steal or rebound at a big moment 9 times out of 10 Sanders will deliver that for them. Sander continues to showcase why he should be considered one of the best 8th graders in NC. Brings a lot of things to the table offensively he has a good balance in scoring and setting teammates up for open looks. On the defense side of things Sanders has unreal lateral quickness stays in front of his man and just is a total pest on that side of the court.

Team United 2022

6’3 ’22 Donovan Atwell- Atwell showcased he is not to be left out the talks of best shooters in NC young man knocked down 9 threes total in back to back games. What was impressive both teams knew he could shoot it and they couldn’t stop him. Already standing 6’3 and shooting the way he does his potential is through the roof.

NC Go Hard 16U

6’2 ’22 Christian Johnson- Johnson put on a show each game I saw him play no matter who the team or what they were ranked he made it known he was in the gym. Johnson can play either guard spot has nice size and used it to knife through traffic and finish over taller defenders and through contact. Johnson lit the nets on fire knocking down shots from every part of the court. He has a good understanding of pace and uses a change of speed to keep defenders off balance.

Ground Work Player Development

6’2 ’21 Brady Rankin- Rankin is a certified bucket getter one of the best in the state had a game of 43 and 37 this weekend. In the game of 43 points, he hit 9 threes at a very high percentage it was Curry like with his confidence and the range he possesses. Rankin is another kid I have headed about and seen a video of but to finally see him do it live was unbelievable if he stays on track and I’m sure he will Rankin will be a college level player.

6’4 ’22 G Jack McErlean – McErlean is very poised and always under control point guard for the team. He faced all kind of pressure and never got rattled they never sped him up just played at his own pace. His team only played with 5 players and eventually one of the 5 fouled out and he was simply amazing breaking traps getting in the lane making plays. Jack has a lot to like about him and already standing at 6’4 and being able to shoot the way he does playing off the ball makes him even more intriguing another young man I want to follow and see how he progresses.
