Phenom’s Southern Jam (July 28-30)

The Phenom Hoops platform brings in major names, the names that everyone in the country talks about. However, the major part of the platform is the spotlight our platform puts on players people don’t talk about yet. Phenom’s Southern Jam is the last travel ball event of the 2017 season. Phenom Hoops will have over 100 teams coming in from 9 different states (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, and Pennsylvania). Every one of these teams will be performing on the Phenom Hoops Platform.
Our track record speaks for itself, so when coaches hear us suggest for them to come watch a player they make the effort to do so. Here is part 4 of D1 prospects Coaches will want to see July 28-30.
6’ 2018 Maliek Wilcox
Upward York (SC)
Wilcox can flat out shoot the rock. He has deep and consistent range that extends well beyond the 3-point line. Wilcox is also a tight ball handler in the half court set, having the ability to get to his spots off the bounce. Wilcox carries interest from the D1 schools around the region, the offers will come his game has gone to a new level.
6’3” 2018 Derek Brandon
Team Cobras (NC)
Brandon has a high level of speed to his game. He has great size and handles the ball well and a quick on quick first step getting down hill. Brandon has great length and the athleticism to be a high level defender at the next level. He is very toolsy and has really produced throughout his career.
6’4” 2018 BJ Fitzgerald
434 Ballers (VA)
Fitzgerald has great size and the ability to score the ball. This travel ball season (April through now) Fitzgerald has averaged over 22 points per game, scoring over 50% from the field. 434 Ballers is Fitzgerald’s father’s program and he has stayed loyal to that. D1s need to watch him and see his ability to get buckets.
6’3” 2019 Quest Aldridge
Team Felton Elite (NC)
Every time he steps on the court Aldridge seems to grow a little bit more. He has always had great feel and an incredible IQ and skill set. Now he couples that skill set with a lengthy 6’3” frame. He can equally play the 1 or the 2 as he has handle, vision and a smooth shot from deep. Aldridge will be one who sky rockets over the next year, our advice is to get on him now so you’re in early.
6’6” 2019 Yan Chiluba
WV Wildcats (Congo)
Chiluba is a long and explosive wing who carries a world of upside. His game is still a little raw as he has been in the US (from the Congo) for less than a year. He runs the floor at a high level, he has the upside as an elite lock down defender and he has the ball skills to get downhill in the half court. His recruitment is tracking in the mid to mid plus right now, but we may see it end up at a higher level.
6’7” 2018 Ngoy Issac
WV Wildcats (WV)
Issac has a great frame, a very strong and athletic 220 pound body. His game is inside > out, as he possesses an advanced post game with his hands and footwork on the block. He also steps out to shoot beyond the arc and can put it on the floor. Issac is newer to the US from the Congo, and is a player D1s need to familiarize themselves with.
