A new face in the Under Armour Association (UAA) circuit, I definitely recommend folks to get familiar with the District WAWG program, if they have not already. Director Stefan Welsh, a former Arkansas Razorbacks basketball standout and current head varsity coach of Woodside High School (Newport News, VA), has put in the work to develop an impressive organization this year, which holds teams ranging from 14u -17u age groups. Players from all over the state of Virginia, along with areas in North Carolina, Maryland, and West Virginia, have made spots on rosters. This past Saturday, the 14u, 16u, and 17u teams all headed to the gym of Benedictine College Prep School (Richmond, VA) for a full day of practices that brought a great environment of competitiveness.
