On Day 1 of the Southern Jam in Greensboro, Phenom Hoops was able to watch two 2019 prospects from around the Raleigh area that should garner some attention this coming high school season.

2019 6’3 Jett Fortuny from Cary and 2019 6’4 Shayne Saigo from Knightdale could be ones to watch, both of which play for WCBA Elite Blue 16u.

Fortuny is a name that has been on the radar with his outside stroke but what we have noticed this season is that he is slowly starting to develop his overall game. He displays a high basketball IQ, continues to be a dead-eye three point shooter that only needs an inch to get a shot off. But he has shown that he can not only score the ball inside and out but be a complete guard. With the target now on his back at Cary, it will be interesting to see how he performs at another level.

Saigo is another intriguing prospect that is built very well, football like frame. But he uses and moves so well, handles the ball exceptionally well, and is a bull when he attacks the rim; he has a constant motor and simply never slows down. But the main thing he can do is score attacking the paint and rim.

It will be interesting to see these two North Carolina prospects this coming season and will certainly be two to watch.
