Virginia Tech has sent out quite a few offers the past couple of days to players that have participated in a few Phenom Hoops Events.

Check out the latest of three young prospects making a name for themselves quickly.

2018 David McCormack

This young man is still raw but the talent is there; and you won’t miss him in any gym. McCormack is a 6’10 center that played for Team Loaded 2018 this summer. He simply looks like a football stud and he certainly could go that path. But it seems that basketball is where he wants to be and programs are really making him a priority.

McCormack already held an offer from a few schools like NC State and Penn State, while others are keeping a close eye on him. But now the Hokies have entered the mix and being in Virginia, they will be one program that will be all over his recruitment. McCormack was first recognized at the Virginia Top 80 and our analysts were fascinated from the start. Here is what was said after the event in Norfolk, Virginia.

David McCormack is an absolute tank. Standing at 6’9” and weighing just over 300 pounds, this rising sophomore has the ability to be one of Virginia’s most elite big men in years to come.

McCormack is quick for a kid of his size and has soft touch on the offensive end.

Defensively, he is an opponent’s nightmare. McCormack used his size and strength to bully the competition in the post on both ends of the floor and also showed he isn’t afraid to step out and knock down an occasional mid-range jumper.

McCormack is also a stud on the gridiron. He led his football squad to a 6-4 record and continues to show growth in all aspects of his young athletic career.

2018 Jarren McAllister

This is another young man that many analyst’s around the North Carolina have heard/seen and have been high on. Now it looks like he is reaching more of a national level in his recruitment with his first offer from the Hokies.

McAllister is a 6-3 shooting guard from Heritage High School that has a nice touch when the ball is in his hands. He can knock down shots and is very athletic with good speed and strong with the ball. He also is a very good defender.

Again, this is this young man’s first offer but the more you see this kid, the more you will understand that it won’t be the last time you hear his name.

Here is what Jamie Shaw had to say about McAllister:

He is long, athletic… he has a good feel in the half court. Plays for Garner Road and is a solid perimeter defender. Brother is a rising freshman at Winston Salem State.

2018 Rechon Black

Our very own Rick Lewis did a piece on Black today, which can be found on the site. But this young man might be the next star to come out of North Carolina. He holds offers from Wake Forest and Virginia Tech from the ACC, along with a few other programs.

But this 6-6 point guard gets it done on the court and knows just how to make everyone better around him. He is also hearing from other programs like Florida, Maryland, NC State, and Virginia.
