Coach: Dustin Harvey
#3: 5’9 ’21 Phillip Robles II (St. Josephs HS, South Bend, IN)
Starting things off, we look at a player with a lot of speeds and the ability to command the court, Phillip Robles II. He is a solid solid point guard who showed the ability to get others involved in the offense. Robles II showed the ability to put the ball in the basket, particularly from fifteen feet and in. His ability to get through the defense helped provide open looks for teammates. Defensively, he was hounding his opponent all day long, forcing several turnovers throughout the day. Next in his development is continued development on his catch and shoot jumpers. Coach Harvey on Robles II: “Phillip was a very good floor general throughout the day. He was very active at the defensive end of the court. He was one of the best users of the floater throughout the day.” Robles will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his sophomore season.
#18: 6’0 ’19 Samuel Hunt (Greenfield HS, Greenfield, IN)
Next, we look at a guard who made his presence felt at the offensive end of the court, Samuel Hunt. Offensively, he is an extremely high IQ guard who was able to find the open man and make the right pass. He showed the ability to hit shots from 22’ plus when given time. His ability to move without the ball helped provide him with open looks. Next in his development is improved consistency on his jumper and greater consistency while defending the ball. Coach Harvey on Hunt: “Sam understood very well how to move without the ball, helping to provide himself with open catch and shoot opportunities. He understands what it means to make the extra pass. He was extremely coachable throughout the course of the day.” Hunt will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his senior season.
#23: 6’1 ’21 Ashton Beaver (Jefferson HS, Lafayette, IN)
Moving onto a player that left his mark at the offensive end of the court, Ashton Beaver. He is a high IQ ball-handling guard who showed the ability to get others involved throughout the day. His ability to put the ball in the basket made him a threat from 22’ plus. His ability to rebound the ball at a high level provided several second chance opportunities. Next in his development is continued improvement at the defensive end of the court. Coach Harvey on Beaver: “Ashton is a very good shooter at all three levels. He is an extremely skilled guard. He fished well at the rim with his off hand at a high level. He was able to rebound the ball at an extremely high level throughout the course of the day.” Beaver showcased his skillset and will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his sophomore season.
#40:6’2 ’21 Zach Whitham (Carmel HS, Carmel, IN)
Continuing onto a player with a blossoming skillset on both ends of the floor, Zach Whitman. Offensively, he was constantly looking to find the open space on the court at the offensive end. He was able to put the ball in the basket at fifteen to eighteen feet. Defensively, he played with high energy and was constantly looking to make hustle plays. Next in his development will be continued improvement attacking the basket. Coach Harvey on Whitman: “Zach is an extremely high IQ player who understands how to play without the ball in his hands. He showed the ability to hit shots, given time. He was a hard worker at the defensive end of the court.” Whitman will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his sophomore season.
#45:6’3 ’21 Vincent Brady II (Lawrence North HS, Indianapolis, IN)
Next, we look at a player that was able to make very solid two-way contributions, Vincent Brady II. He is a high IQ, gifted and exceptionally athletic wing prospect. Offensively, he showed the ability to score at all three levels and was efficient when taking the ball to the rim. His ability to move the ball and find the open man made him a great teammate. Next in his development is continue improvement in his activity at the defensive end and continued improvement when pursuing rebounds, 50/50 balls. Coach Harvey on Brady II: “Vincent showed the ability to put the ball in the basket at all three levels. He has a pretty release when shooting the ball. He is extremely athletic and attacks the rim very well.” Brady II showcased his scoring ability and will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his sophomore season.
#61: 6’5 ’19 Allen Plunkett (South Putnam HS, Greencastle, IN)
Moving onto a player with an impressive combination of size and skill at the offensive end, Allen Plunkett. Offensively, he was able to put the ball in the basket at all three levels and was extremely efficient from fifteen feet and in. Defensively, he was able to rebound the ball at a high level for his position. Next in his development is continued improvement moving around the perimeter while others are cutting to the basket. Coach Harvey on Plunkett: “Allen is a physical, athletic slasher. He has the ability to his jumpers with consistency. He was able to finish at and above the rim at a very high level. He was constantly cutting to the basket and calling for the ball.” Plunkett has a well-rounded game and will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his senior season.
#65: 6’6 ’21 Adam O’Dell (St. Josephs HS, Granger, IN)
Continuing on to a lengthy wing who made a strong impact at the offensive end of the court, Adam O’Dell. Offensively, he was able to score from fifteen to eighteen feet and was able to move the ball at a very high level. Defensively, he forced opponents to finish over his size and his length. Next in his development is continuing to improve on his moves when the ball is passed in to the post. Coach Harvey on O’Dell: “Adam is a long big that can step out and hit threes. He is an extremely strong player with the basketball. He rebounded the ball extremely well at his position. He was a great defender and forced the opponent to finish over his size a t the rim.” O’Dell had a great showing at the offensive end of the court and will be one to keep an eye on as he is only heading in to his sophomore season.
#74: 6’9 ’20 Matthew Jones (Jefferson HS, Jefferson, IN)
Lastly, we look a big with a blossoming game at the offensive end of the court, Matthew Jones. Offensively, he showed the ability to stretch the floor and finish when the ball is fed in to the post. His ability to pass out of the post helped provide many open looks for teammates. Defensively, he showed the ability to defend the basket, forcing opponents to go over his size. Next in his development will be continued improvement in his conditioning. As his conditioning improves, so will his ability to run the break and defend the rim in transition. Coach Harvey on Jones: “Matthew has great court vision and is a great passer. He is a true big who has the ability to stretch the court. In the post, he has really nice footwork. He was consistently knocking down threes throughout the day.” Hatton will be one to keep an eye on heading in to his sophomore season.
