Year after year, the stage is set at Phenom’s Summer Havoc for breakouts to take place. This year is no different as 60 or so coaches lined the baseline for the three game sets.
It was great, players played great and offers were handed out…first offers even. This is typical of Phenom’s Summer Havoc, but here are the guys from night one who should see their first offers come, this week.
6’6” 2020 Chris Hemphill
Team Carolina Asheville (NC)
A physically imposing wing, Hemphill did a great job on the ball. He has great length and good athleticism and was able to get downhill quickly where he finished at and above the rim. It’s crazy to think he is only a 2020, but this is a prospect who is easy to like upon first viewing.
6’5” 2019 Asanti Price
Team Vision (NC)
Price has great length and the innate ability to flat out score the ball. He has easy touch with deep range off the catch. He is also able to get downhill and pull up in the mid range or finish at the rim. He needs more strength, but that should not deter schools as their weight program will instantly put on the pounds. He can create offense.
6’4” 2019 Joe French
Q6 All Stars (FL)
French lit night one of Phenom’s Summer Havoc on fire. He drained 8 3s in this one and it was pure. He has a great frame and an understanding of how to get to his spots, set and ready to let it fly. He looked solid when he put the ball on the floor and had the frame to be a good defender. Very interesting player and one who should see a lot of colleges come his way this week.
6’8” 2020 Dean Reiber
Team Loaded (NC) 16s
We have been talking about Reiber for a coupe of years now and his game is absolutely taking off. He had schools like Middle Tennessee St and Rice in the stands watching him as he showed out. Reiber has all the tools, with great size and athleticism. He can knock down the 3-point shot with regularity and finish high above the rim. The take off is about to happen, offers are coming.
6’5” 2019 Omar Crosky
Upward Stars Columbia (SC)
Crosky walks on the court, and you take note. He has good size and great length. Once the game starts you see that Crosky is an absolute bucket getter. He finished with 27 points, scoring the ball at all 3 levels, in all different settings (half court, full court, break, etc…). Crosky is a problem and that will be on full display all week.
