We are excited to be hosting the 2nd Annual Phenom Hoops Challenge this year. We are looking at a field of 72 teams with a lot of talent to be had at the D1, D2, D3, JUCO, and NAIA levels. There is no doubt that this year’s Challenge will keep the college coaches in attendance excited as the discover new talent as well as stay on top of the names the already knew.
This week, Phenom Hoops will be going through matchups and players to watch in each division. So that you will be on top of some players to watch
Unsigned Seniors
6’5” Malik Moore (Team Vision)
Moore broke out at the 2014 Spring NC Phenom150 camp, and never looked back. Throughout the process Moore picked up six (6) offers (USC Upstate, App St, Tennessee Tech, Citadel, Western Kentucky, and Radford). Moore is a lengthy wing, who does a great job making plays on both ends of the floor. Look for low to mid coaches to enjoy watching him.
7’ Papa Ndiaye (Team Vision)
Ndiaye is an imposing figure when standing in the lane. He has great length, and good timing around the rim. Ndiaye is gaining a lot of interest at all levels, and rightfully so you cannot teach what he does. It will be interesting to see which coaches show up to watch Ndiaye. Couple things are for certain, there will be coaches there and they will be from across the board.
6’4” Chris Sause
You can’t help but appreciate it when Sause plays. He is an all-out, high motor guy. He finished his senior season as his high school’s all-time leading scorer. The rugged wing will go out and produce game in and game out. Expect a lot of D2 and D3 coaches out evaluating him.
6’6” My’Quan Gooding (SEBL)
Gooding had a burst of steam after the 2013 Fall NC Phenom 150 and picked up interest across the D1 board. Playing for a smaller high school and a couple AAU programs has caused his star to flutter a bit. There is no denying the production Gooding is capable of. He has a great frame, touch well beyond the arc, and he rebounds at a high level. His D1 interest could pick back up with a good weekend here.
6’7” Jalyn McKoy (Juice All Stars)
McKoy played on the one of the best teams in the state and averaged a double-double on the year. On a team with six (6) other division one players the steady one tends to get overlooked. McKoy goes out and gets his work done, and at the end of the day his team wins. McKoy has skill away from the basket, but also does a lot of work around the basket. Much like Gooding, his D1 interest could really pick up with a good weekend here.
