Diving in with: Talton Jones

The 6’3 Fayettnam product has grilled out two straight weekends and now finds himself amidst
a serious come up.
When Jones lines up you immediately notice the 6’10 wingspan, then you see the smile and
how much the dude genuinely loves the game. Jones gives everything on every possession and
that combination of effort and passion makes him fun to watch.
Jones slashes through the lane like a running back hits a hole, and then initiates contact at the
cup. Jones isn’t waiting for the defender he brings the noise straight to your doorstep, and
Jones will probably be smiling after he hands your side a bucket. Jones is saucy with the
handle, but he always keeps it on a string, the passing ability is next level and when defenses
keyed in on Jones he shredded them with jaw dropping dimes.
At 6’3 Jones can see over the defense and fit the rock in small windows of space, his deliveries
are flashy at times but never out of control. With Flight 22 Jones has transitioned from support
guy- to the man, he’s been counted on to run the show and set the tone on both ends, Jones
has embraced all of the responsibility and he’s determined to make guys better around him.
More important than winning games Jones wanted everyone to shine in last weekend’s live
period.
“For me as a leader I tell the team to be patient, run the plays, listen to coach and stay
disciplined, we knew the coaches would be here so we had to play hard and play with heart.”
Jones Said.
Jones isn’t a stranger to the big stage he was a core member on a stacked Trinity Christian
squad that captured the 1A NCISSA state championship this past season. In a line up that
features three high major prospects, (Joey Baker, Greg Gantt, Audiese Toney,), it’s
understandable that Jones could be somewhat overlooked at times, but he’s proven the
capability to completely take over games. Jones has taken some mannerisms from Trinity
teammates and translated them into his approach with Flight 22.
“ Playing with Joey and them, they’ve been leaders and led me, so I’m going to lead them how
they led me and be great like them, so I keep these guys on the positive note and tell them good
stuff.” Jones said.
Recruitment has picked up for him as of late currently Jones holds two offers from Fayetteville
St and Western Carolina. There is a long line of strong interest including ( Unc Charlotte,VCU,
Campbell, and Mercer, etc.), to name a few.
In the upcoming months Jones plans to visit several schools including local school Unc
Charlotte.
“ I told Longwood I would go up for an official visit, VCU I’m going up there, and also Unc
Charlotte because they have a new coaching staff so I want to establish a relationship there.”
Jones said.

Jones is a humble kid who is coachable and wants to get better, he’s tough as nails and after
speaking with him I instantly realized Jones has a mature demeanor beyond his years.
Jones already knows what his next move is when the rock stops bouncing, he plans on
studying for a future in video game designing, so stay tuned on that!
