The North Carolina 1A/2A Mixed Conference has a lot of talent in it, especially at the younger ages. You have 2021 studs like Terrance Harcum at Granville Central, Po King at Roanoke Rapids and Bobby Pettiford at South Granville. Here is an NCHSAA recap of the first round of this conference’s playoffs last night.
Last night, South Granville faced off against Warren County. Both are 2A programs. This game, however was pretty lopsided from the get go. Looking at what South Granville coach Jake Wohlfeil has on his roster and the stuff he runs and the discipline his team plays with, South Granville may be a team to watch out for come play off time.
They have good size and length. They have good athleticism. They have great two-way guard play. When you add those things together, that is a great recipe for going on a string of wins. Especially when you have a team of guys who have fun playing the game, which it appeared they did last night.
