In the win, 6’5” unsigned senior Stephen Edoka finished with 22 points, 8-12 FG and 7 boards that paired nicely with his 3 blocked shots and 2 steals. Edoka is 4.0 student, in fact, since being enrolled at Concord First Assembly Edoka has never made below an A in the classroom.

On the court, Edoka does a little bit of everything. He is a tough, hard-nosed defender, able to go between the perimeter or post with ease. He has excellent timing as a shot blocker and moves his feet quickly on the ball. he is rated as a top 20 prospect in North Carolina’s 2018 class. Players directly above and below him are committed to the likes of Rice and East Carolina.

Offensively, Edoka is best in transition. He gets downhill and finishes at the rim, in traffic. He has a solid handle in the half court with good vision as he attacks. Where his game has expanded is with the jump shot. Just last week he went 7-8 from three in a game against Gaston Day and is shooting over 40% from three this season.

Right now Edoka only has a lone offer from Winthrop, while the likes of Charleston Southern and others are heavily recruiting him. With the likes of VCU and Charlotte in the stands for this one, that level feels good for him, possibly more. 20 points, 40+% FT, 10 rebounds per game with a 4.0 GPA … Watch Closely!
